QUEERPOS
About QueerPos
Queer news. Unfiltered perspectives.
Stories that make room for every voice
QueerPos is an independent LGBTQ+ news and culture publication bringing together reporting, perspectives and creative work from Southeast Asia and around the world. We cover the people, ideas and events shaping queer lives, with a particular commitment to stories from Indonesia and the wider region.
Our coverage moves across news, rights, community, entertainment and literature. From a policy change in Southeast Asia to a new queer film, from a local community initiative to a graphic novel that deserves a wider audience, we believe these stories belong in the public conversation.
Our editorial approach
We aim to be curious, accurate, independent and respectful. We distinguish reporting from opinion, provide context where it matters, and treat the people whose lives are part of a story with dignity. We do not assume that LGBTQ+ communities are a single, uniform audience: identities, experiences and points of view are varied, and our journalism should reflect that.
What we cover
- Latest: current LGBTQ+ news and developments.
- SEA: queer lives, rights and culture across Southeast Asia.
- West: LGBTQ+ news from the Americas, Europe and other Western countries.
- Entertainment: movies, series, fashion and popular culture.
- Books: manga, manhwa, queer novels, reviews and author stories.
Our commitment
QueerPos seeks to make thoughtful journalism accessible, challenge stereotypes and create space for stories that are too often overlooked. We welcome corrections, informed feedback, story ideas and constructive conversation from readers and communities.
